Thank God For The Never Ending Blessings..

"I've knocked on so many doors before, and God did not let me in. He said "wait".. And He was right.. Once He opened the door for me, everything was in the perfect time.."

The year 2016 has been a blast for me. God has been so kind in giving me presents of blessings that I would never had enough of thanking Him for His blessings. Two of the greatest blessings received this year is being accepted as Ph.D students at RMIT University, Australia and also being an awardee of LPDP scholarship.

Continuing school has been a dream of mine right after I've completed my master degree. I want to be an academician that is an expert in the field of study that I am passionate with. I want to be someone big! Someone inspiring! Someone that is influential enough to deliver good deeds to the world! With all the passion and the vibes that I have, God teaches me to calm down. To wait.. He teaches me a great lesson which at that time I called "failure". Today, I call it blessings..

Why blessings? Well, without the "blessings", I would not be having such a great and supportive supervisors that are so communicative and cared about my study. They have so much passion in the research that I will conduct as much as the passion that I put into. They motivate me and pushed me to my highest limit. Moreover, one "blessings" deliver another "blessings". Being accepted as an awardee for one of the most prestigious scholarship in Indonesia called LPDP. The timing was perfect. I was already settled for my enrolment.  My family is more settled than last year. Moreover, my emotion has been fully settled for my future study.

Being an LPDP awardee had changed my perspective of how Indonesian future will be. As many people put pessimism in the Indonesian future, looking at the people attending the LPDP awardee scholarship event (PK-63 Satya Nagari) deliver faith and positive vibes about Indonesian Future. Indonesia is so blessed to have such gifted yet talented youth that loves their country so much and willingly to work side by side for a better Indonesia.

I met so many great Indonesian individuals in the events. Those with great passion and great personality. Those that are very humble although having many achievements in their shoulders. Meeting them showed me that I have so many things to catch up in order to great. I felt like a piece of dust in the Sahara dessert. They are another motivation for me to work harder, and contribute more to my country.

[BANGKOK TRIP]: Lunch with the best Food in Town!

Great Place, Great Atmosphere

It was a super tiring day at that time when in Bangkok. We've just arrived at Bangkok, and haven't got the time to rest at our hotel. We took a Ferry Boat to Khao San Road, Bangkok, Thailand. We had heard a review about a great place to eat Tom Yam at that place.

The place is called "Tom Yam Kung". This place is quite hard to find since it is not directly seen in the main road. But instead, we have to walk on a very small street first to reach this place. But if we can have access to the Google Maps, we can easily spot that "small street" I was talking about.

The Menu's Price List

Although the restaurant looks a bit "fancy" compared to other restaurant in that street, for the price it is quite affordable and reasonable. The restaurant also provide credit card or debit card transaction. This makes it easier for international tourist like us that needs to save up cash in the beginning of the trip.

The Shared Menu Plate

The portion of the food is quite a big portion. So it is more recommended to share the menu with friends or families. I ordered the seafood Tom Yam and the Fragranced Grilled Chicken. The taste??? It is theeee booommmmssszzzz...

The best Thai Mango Sticky Rice

My favourite menu of all is actually the dessert. The Mango Sticky Rice. The Mango is very ripe and the sticky rice is sweet. It has a delicious coconut scent to it. It is also served with fragranced coconut milk and creamy coconut ice cream. So mouth-watering!!! This dessert is the dessert I've missed the most in Bangkok.

This is a must try restaurant in Bangkok!

Updates About 2015: I am Married!!!!

Hello gorgeous...

Gosh.. I can't believe it's already 2016. Yet again, as what can be seen in my blog, I rarely post an update on my blog content. Sad sad sad!!!!

Many wonderful things happens back in 2015. I can't thank God enough for the blessings and the wonderful life that God had given me till today.

Reflecting on many blessings that God had given me, I would like to highlights an event back in 2015 that has made my life complete. I am married to the man that I love so much!

It was 7th of June 2015, my husband Yovie made a promise to be faithful and loving me for the rest of is life. From that day, till forever.

Being married to him is a wonderful thing. Although there are several ups and downs in our marriage, I felt that my husband are able to deliver many positive things in my life. I appreciate the way he is able to push me to become better each time, everyday. He teaches me many things in life. He teach me to become more humble. He teach me how to become independent with respect. He teach me that to live is to love. I am very excited to pursue more and more incredible journey with him in the future.

The Engagement Day

Finally after many hectic days and several drama, we've made it to the day that we've been waiting for. January 4th, 2015 has come. It is our ENGAGEMENT DAY.

There were many drama before the engagement day. Starting from "The Ring" to the dress that were done just 4 days before the engagement day. But anyway, finally we made it. Bravo!

What I want to talk about in this post is not about the events. But it is about the drama of the makeup that I am wearing on this event.

The Ring

I think it was quite a long time ago that I've posted a post in my blog. It was once become something that I am obsessed in doing but lately I become quite bored of it. But I don't know what strikes me, suddenly today I have the urge to start writing again in my blog.

Short story short, at the end of 2014, Popeye (now my fiancé) came to my parents house to ask if he is allowed to propose to me in the beginning of January 2015. The proposal that Popeye gave to me is not what I imagine it to be. There were no ring. No romantic scenery. No "standing on his knee". Such a failed Cinderella Story... >.<

What he did is what Indonesian man in the 80's do to their women. ASK DIRECTLY TO THE PARENTS. Oh well... I'm happy that at least he have the courage to do it.

So we set our engagement day to be done on the 4th of January 2015.

Amanjiwo - The Expensive Breakfast

The expensive breakfast journey to Amanjiwo is actually an unplanned trip that was raised after our Borobudur trip. My "Boyfriend At The Moment" (BATM) is such a spontaneous person which fell in love so deeply with photography. So when there is a place that is great for photography, he'll take it!

The Hidden Treasure - Borobudur Sunrise Experience

(Photograph taken by Handini Audita with Samsung S4 Camera)

As humans, sometimes we unconsciously neglect the beauty that is just sitting right next to us. We did not see and aware of things that is near us. But we keep dreaming and whining to see the beauty that has been obviously told located in a place far away. That is exactly what has just happened to me.

I lived in Yogyakarta since I started my bachelor degree. It was in the year 2007. So technically it is already almost 10 years living in this beautiful city. During that time, I do like to explore little details of this beautiful city. The Tamansari, the Sultan's Palace, Baron Beach, Prambanan, Ramayana Ballet, and all the other details I have explored. But I have neglected one hidden beauty of Yogyakarta that I regret of not finding it a long time ago. It is the sunrise experience of Borobudur Temple.

I Need To Be More Committed

Hey Girls.. How's everything going?

It's sure is a looonngggggg time since the last post of my blog has been posted.
Gosh.. I sure need to work this out..

I've been trapped in a new work dilemma where I am currently drowned in new tasks and responsibilities.

I sure need to work things out so that I can get back to write in my blog as a routine. I need to be more and more committed to my blog..

Well, hope this new commitment can work well..

Hope to see you soon on my next blog posts..

xoxo

Love,

Handini.

Goodbye BlackBerry

Hei guys...

I know it's been awhile since my last post. Trust me.. I was super busy at work...:(

Finally I am able to get rid of my blackberry.  I purchase a Samsung Galaxy S4 that I am currently so happy with.

The only thing about this phone is that I often make mistakes when typing. Perhaps my thumb is just too big. Time to go for a strict diet here... Hahaha

Love you always. ..

Life Comes and Go: Let The "NEW" Life Begins

Hei there all the beautiful readers...

There is a saying that "people comes and go". Yes, I agree..

But there is also a thought inspired by that..

"Life comes and go"

Okay.. I know it sound creepy (sounds like people died then comes alive again). But wait.. Let's define the meaning of "life".

Life is the period between birth and death, or the experience, or state of being alive.

Let's underline the word "experience"

We have experience many stages of life.

There is a life as a baby.
Then a life as a todler.
Then a life as a kid.
Then a life as a teenager.
Then a life as a university student.
.... Then, comes the working life....

As an experience expires, then a new life begins. New life begins as a start of a new experience waiting ahead. Living in the new life. Filled with excitement, happiness, and sometime a spark of fear facing the unpredictable.

I am now at the working life.

Alhamdullillah.. After a very patient long wait, finally I am officially hired by the University that I used to study at. I am now officially a Lecture in Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Gadjah Mada. I was called by the Faculty to receive my contract on Monday, 13 May 2013. Then, I started working the day right after that, which is on Tuesday, 14 May 2013.

I am now in my new office writing this post filled with millions of joy and happiness.

I am now ready to face my new life starting with joy and excitement.

Much Love,

How To Post Blog Posts From BlackBerry or Other Smartphone Device

Yay!!! Finally I can post blog post from my BlackBerry. Thanks to the information given by "Kumpulan Emak Blogger".

I know that for Wordpress, there is already an app for it that can be freely downloaded via BlackBerry World. But for Blogspot? I haven't find any..:(

So I just find out that there is an alternative for posting blog post via BlackBerry. We can use the Email service. Here's what you need to do:

  1. Log on to your Blogspot account via the PC. Go to Dashboard -- Settings -- Mobile and Email.
  2. On the "Email" detail, click "Publish Email Immediately"
  3. Then there is a detail that shows the email address. Usually the first word is the email account you use to register for your blog. Then there is an empty box beside it that you have to put a "secret" word. Example: Blogging.Asik. _______ .@blogger.com ; You fill in the box then become Blogging.Asik.Sukasuka@blogger.com (this will be the email address to post your blog post).
  4. Then using your push up email service in your BlackBerry, just send a regular email to the "blogger" email address that you have got. If you want to post pictures in it, just attach pictures in the email.
The only unpleasant thing of posting blog post via push-up email, is the detailed information attached in the end of the email post. For my case, it is "Sent from my BlackBerry® smartphone from Sinyal Bagus XL, Nyambung Teruuusss...!"

Hahahahaha

Anyway, I'm so happy since now I can update my blog with short posts whenever I'm not around my PC. For example, when I'm travelling, and I see interesting thing that I want to immediately share with all of you readers..

Go on and give it a try..:)

Our Little Kartini

It's still April. So I hope it's not too late to post about Kartini Day.

Kartini is an Indonesian woman born in the year 1879. She is an icon for woman emancipation in Indonesia. At that time, when Indonesia is still occupied by the Dutch, Indonesian women cannot go to school. So Kartini strive to fight for Indonesian rights to receive proper education.

R.A. Kartini
So perhaps because of her, Indonesian woman can go to school as high as we want. And achieve our dreams no matter how high it is.

Thank you Kartini.. :)

Flashback

While my sister is busy watching human anatomy videos that is more of scary than entertaining to me, I managed to open the old files in my laptop. Old files are sometimes precious. Especially those that captures great memories and great process of life. I found the scanned file of my baby picture. Yes, me as a baby! Pictures that were taken almost 20 years ago. Thank God for technology, I still can keep my precious pictures save in digital file by scanning it a couple of years ago. Since it was a very old file, so forgive about the poor quality of pictures..:)

I was born 22 years ago in the year 1990. I was born as the first child in my family.

April Sneak Peak

Hei there beautiful ladies. How was your week end?

Today I woke up super late. My sister does so too because we stayed up all night watching X-Factor Indonesia (last night elimination was super fun to watch *sorry*).

My sister was in the super mood of studying. She said she will have a very important big test in a couple of days. But the thing is, she is only in the mood to study if it is outside the house. She said the house makes her sleepy all the time so she spend the days sleeping instead of studying. LOL

So we went to Frank Wurts which is a small cafe selling German Sausages. Why there? Well, it's simply because it is super cozy *and not too crowded*. I'll share some mouth watering picture here. Be prepared to get "hungry"..!!! *hungry for food and hungry for makeup..lol*

2013 Resolution: Live to inspire

I know it is already a bit late for "new years" related post. It has been 10 days already since the very beginning of the year 2013.

Last year, I spend my new years eve in Edinburgh under the Edinburgh castle. It was cold and windy since it was in a "minus temperature". Under very minimum amount of budget, we had an unforgettable new years eve which will last forever in our minds. My 2012 new years resolution was made in the "Elephant House" coffee shop which was the location where J.K Rowling wrote the famous Harry Potter book. Even though there are some of my 2012 new year resolution that were not achieved (haven't got a book published under my name), but I still felt blessed knowing that there were many great things happening in 2012.

In 2012, I managed to find new friends and create a priceless friendship. To Hao, Sasha, May, Maya, Dias, Linie, Lily, Ubie, and many others that I cannot mention one by one, the true friendship that you guys give is so meaningful to me. I hope our friendship can last forever.

In 2012, after a long "war", I finally received glory by receiving a Master Degree. It was something that before, I never imagined to be able to happen this soon. I am blessed to have such a supportive family and friends that made it possible to happen, having a master degree in International Marketing at the age of 22.

This year, I had the chance to spend my new years eve in warmth, surrounded by my family. We celebrate new years eve without going to the crowd. Instead, we spend it at home, having quality family dinner. My sister and I bought cakes, to celebrate my parents 23rd wedding anniversary which happens in 1st January.

Having blessed during my 22 years of life, from this moment on, I've decided to make the rest of my life meaningful.

I've decided to live to inspire...

That's why my 2013 resolution is strongly related to become a better person. I want to spend my future time as meaningful as possible to have a better life for me and give better life to others.

I wanted to be a healthier person. By being healthy, I will be able to have more time to do good things ahead. I will have the ability to be more productive and active that will yield to a more meaningful life.

Then, I wanted to be a nicer person. Give more smile, less anger. By being a nicer person I believe that I will distribute more impact and inspire more people.

Last but not least, I wanted to do more great things. This includes spending my time to do more meaningful things. I would start to eliminate activities which is not necessary. By smartly selecting activities, I would be able to accomplish more achievements in life that will inspire my self to be a better person and  inspire others to do meaningful things.

By focusing on those three elements of life, I hope that my goal in 2013 will be better achieved.

I want to make my life meaningful.

I have to live to inspire...

Lots of love,

Too Much Fun!!!! - December 15, 2012 - VLOG #handiniaudita

I Lost My Camera

Nothing lives eternal. Not a person. Not an animal. Not even a single thing.

Today I lost something that captures moments in my life. Happy moments, sad moments, and priceless moments. My camera.

I bought that camera when I was still in my 3rd semester during my undergraduate study. My father bought that for me as a gift for the appreciation of my achievement at that time. It was my very first digital camera. I took my camera with me almost everywhere I go to capture priceless moments. I also bring my camera to the UK. My camera had capture so many wonderful things that reminds me of wonderful moments of my past.

But now, my camera is gone. For the very first time, I did not bring my camera with me. Usually I always put it in my bag so I carry it everywhere I go. But since my arrival from the UK, I start to spend a lot of time at home. So I decided to put my camera in one of my cupboard. I thought it was save. But today I've just realize that it is gone. The cover bag of it is still in my cupboard. But I cannot find my camera inside it. I'm so sad of it...:(

Oh well, nothing is eternal. I have to let it go. I hope that God will give me an opportunity to be able to buy another camera to replace my lost camera. So pray and work for some extra cash. Start saving up..!

With Love,

A Year Which Just Past By: My Journey of Studying in United Kingdom

I cannot believe that it has been a year since my first arrival to Glasgow, United Kingdom. It was a very long and unpredictable journey. I was very lucky to experience that, even though with a very sudden preparation. It was not an easy journey to step my feet on the Royal Land of United Kingdom. This is the short story about my very long journey in the Royal Land of United Kingdom.

Going for master degree after graduating my undergraduate study, had been the very long plan of mine. My parents was very kind to give full support until their very limit. Not only financial support that they are willing to give, but they also wonderfully give mental support in the form of motivation and advice. However, going to study in the UK was not the plan! We did not even consider having me studying in the UK. Not even a single thought.

Our plan until the very last minute was to prepare for taking master degree in Australia. The land that were deeply attached to my heart because I spend most of my childhood time in that beautiful land. So we prepared every single detail of it to go to Australia. Financial planning, IELTS tests, recommendation letter, and any other documents to support my application to universities in Australia. Months after the preparation I was blessed to be accepted in one of the best rating university in Australia. A university which the vice president of Indonesia (Mr. Budiono) graduated from. The class starts at February 2012. I was accepted approximately on June 2011. So I still have a lot of time before my departure. I was blessed.

God hands work in an unpredictable manner. One day, somewhere in the beginning of August 2011, I visited my friend house just to have a chat. Her name is Myra. A very good friend of mine during my undergrad study. That day, I cannot remember the beginning of the story, Myra suddenly told me a story about her big brother who had finish his master degree in the UK. She suddenly gives me an advice. I remember it so well because these sentences had changed my plan dramatically.

She said to me: "Dini, why didn't you go to the UK instead? I know that the Poundsterling rate is so damn high. But think about it, master degree in the UK will only take 1 year if you're on track. In Australia it takes 2.5 years if you're on track. So if you accumulate your spending until you finish your course, UK will be way much cheaper. The education system in the UK is also so good."

That sentences opened my eyes dramatically. It changed my mind in advance. At that moment I suddenly  think, "I have to study in the UK".

So as I went back home, I called my dad directly to talk about what Myra said to me. He agreed directly. From that second, our plan turns into a different direction. We will now focus on getting my master in the UK.

As I arrived home, I rushed into my laptop and starts Googling the universities which provides the major I am interested to study (Marketing). So I came by three Universities (University of Strathclyde, University of Birmingham, and University of Manchester). There is one problem that occurs. The class for the year 2011 admission starts in mid-September 2011. It was August already at that. Time seems to be impossible for me to enter the September 2011 admission period. So I act nothing to loose. I just continue to do what I have to do.

Don't be afraid to change into another direction. If the other direction gives better values, why not give it a try?

Right the next day, I contacted an Education Consulting Agent (IBEC) to help me with my application. I understand that with this very limited of time, I will need an education consultant. I was lucky enough to be advised by Mr.Hendra, the head of that education consulting agent. He gives me lists of documents that I have to send to him to complete my application. I also contacted my professors to ask for another letter of recommendation. They were surprised because I changed direction in a very short period of time. One of them even said: "Handini, it is impossible for you to be accepted this year. The time is very limited and you will still need to process many other things. It is impossible. It is impossible.." (he said the word "impossible" three times). But I replied: "Sir, you cannot say you can't before you try".

Never said you can't before you try! It will be more painful to not trying to do what you wish to do rather than failing on things you have done your best to do. Don't be afraid to take new opportunities. What's important is to do your best, let God do the rest.

Seeing my dedication and motivation, they easily signed my recommendation letter. I prepared all the documents needed just in one day. The next day, I directly fly to Jakarta to meet Mr.Hendra and to complete the application documents.

Things does not always goes smooth. When the day I arrived in IBEC office, Mr.Hendra starts to call those three universities I've selected to ask if they still can provide just one more seat for one student. We have to wait until 16:00 Indonesian time because we have to wait for UK office hours. Unfortunately, University of Manchester and University of Birmingham is already full. They cannot accept more students.

Frustrated? Not even. I still have an opportunity with Strathclyde. So I decided to still go with my application. Again, I act like I have nothing to loose.

I prayed every single day. If it is what's best for me, please let it be.

Finally.. Couple of days after my application, I received an Unconditional Letter of Acceptance. This means that I am fully accepted to take master degree in University of Strathclyde, United Kingdom. I was filled with joy. Right after I received the email from  the university conforming my status, I directly complete any payments needed to be payed (tuition fee). I also booked a student accommodation online.

After that process, I have to apply for my student Visa. I will need a CAS number (Confirmation of Acceptance for Study) to apply for my visa. The University said that it will take approximately 1 week for me to receive it. Unfortunately, things does not go as expected. I've waited until Mid September, the CAS number has not been sent. I called the University conforming this situation. They said that they cannot control this situation because CAS number is issued by the Ministry of Education in United Kingdom. It is not the University that issued this letter. So the only thing that the university can do is to issue a permission letter to arrive late for class. It is a kind of relieve hearing a slight solution for my situation at that moment. But deep inside my heart, I believe that I can arrive on time.

Again, I prayed every single day. You will when you believe! So I believe that I can arrive on time for class. Positive thoughts will lead to positive results. That is the law of attraction!

After days and days of waiting, on 20 September 2011, I received my CAS number. FYI, that is just 5 days before the first day of class. As soon as I received the letter, I rushed to the UKBA (UK Border Agency) to apply for my Visa. It was the most challenging moment of my life (in Indonesian, we called it "Sport Jantung").

I got my Visa approved on Friday, 23 September 2011 at 10:00. The flight that I booked will fly on Saturday, 24 September 2011 at 0:15. So I received my visa just 14 hours before my departure! I rushed to the UKBA to collect my Visa. Then go around Jakarta to search for Poundsterling. FYI, it is not an easy task to ask for a lot of Poundsterling in a very limited time. Fiuuuhh... Such a stressful day.

But again. Even though it was so stressful, but I felt so much blessed. This means that I can arrive in time for class. I don't need to skip any classes.

Short story short, I flew to Glasgow, United Kingdom and arrived safely. I did not have anyone to pick me up in the airport. This is because all the Indonesian students which I have got contacted to is busy with their student orientation activities. It's all right. I use taxi to take me from the airport to the student accommodation which I booked already. I was lucky enough to have such a pleasant place to live. Collegeland, is my home for the next 52 weeks.

My first day of school starts on Monday, 26 September 2011. I was very happy to meet lots of great people from many different countries. India, China, Pakistan, Italy, Greece, Thailand, and many other countries that I cannot mention one by one. I also have a friend from our closest country neighbor, Malaysia.

On the 2nd of October 2011, I met all the Indonesian students in the Glasgow area for the first time. It was the day where we go around Glasgow in Batik. We proudly promotes Batik in the nation of far away. We chat and exchange numbers so that we can keep in touch.

Batik Day, Glasgow, United Kingdom

My first holiday in the UK is a trip to Loch Ness. I was invited to take a one day trip by an Indonesian friend of mine. As I remembered, I think it was the next weekend after the Batik day. I took that opportunity to get to know some Indonesian friends a bit more personal and closer. I am blessed until this moment (the day I write this article), we still remain best friends.

Loch Ness Trip With Dias, Maya, Ilham, and "Pakde Dito"

Among the Indonesian students, we had a very good relationship. To some, we act like family. I am very blessed to receive such a caring family in Glasgow. "Duke Street Citizens", "Roebank Citizens", and the "Blackfriars Court Citizens" is my most closest family of mine in Glasgow. Thank you for the wonderful love and joy you give to me. Especially for "Pakdhe Dito" who always cook for me every time I got "home sick". I will not forget the sate buntel, tongseng kambing, and the katetong..:D

Glasgow was never sunny. But when it's sunny, it's time to dress your best!

During my study in the UK, I manage to travel to many different cities outside the Glasgow area. I'm very happy to meet more and more friends when visiting to different cities. I am happy to meet more and more great Indonesians such as Davina from Leeds, and Happy from Manchester. You guys are uniquely awesome!

My trip to York

Manchester Trip, I met Happy

The most unforgettable trip was when we celebrate new years eve in Edinburgh. It was unforgettable because we have to struggle in the freezing weather and the storm. Plus, we go from one club to other club just to find a "free place" to sit and warm up (mahasiswa gak modal). Having no sleep time because we have no place to sleep. We also experience being kicked out from a student accommodation building because we secretly sleep in their common room. The experience was Priceless!
2012 New Years Eve in Edinburgh, United Kingdom

London was also a memorable city during my stay in the UK. It is because I visited this city twice for two important events. Both were priceless! My first trip was a "business trip" to one of the world biggest consulting company. My second trip was a trip to hunt for BIRKINS...!!!!! That's why I called London as a priceless city, because I always conduct a priceless trip to London.

Business Trip To London

Hunting more and more BIRKINS with "the Birkin Lady"..!!!!

Another awesome events while living in the UK is the opportunity to experience London Olympics 2012. I was lucky enough to receive free tickets to see a female football match between USA and Colombia in the Hampden Football Field. Even though I have no idea about football, but I felt blessed having the opportunity to experience the "Olympic atmosphere".

London Olympic 2012, Hampden Park, United Kingdom

I understand that reading this post creates an image that all I did in the UK was just to travel and to have fun. Well, it's not true at all. I've experienced several ups and downs also in my study period. The best experience which adds values to my study is the opportunity for me and 5 of my other friends to work as a consulting team for one of Scotland biggest food and drinks distributor. I was blessed because I can experience a very rare opportunity to experience the "Scottish" working environment. It was one of the best learning process of my master degree period.

The Final Gala Dinner, University of Strathclyde, United Kingdom

Now, a year had went passed by. It felt that everything happens so fast like a glimpse of light. It was priceless yet meaningful. I cannot regret any single thing from this very long journey.

Today, just one year after my arrival in Glasgow, I am now returned to Indonesia. I returned back home on August 2012 before the Ramadhan. Now, I cannot wait for my second journey to the UK. But this time, the journey is for GRADUATION.
