There is this hype in Indonesia which is a treatment to detoxify our face by putting on Kefir as a mask. Kefir is like a yogurt, but mostly made from goats milk. It is rich in probiotics, thus very healthy when consumed. Kefir is also believed beneficial for the skin when being used as a mask. The probiotics and dairy contains in the Kefir is believed to create more supple skin and to cure many impurities of skin. Several celebrity in Indonesia uses Kefir mask to neutralise their skin after days and days of thick makeup. One of the pioneers of Kefir mask brand is Medina Organic Kefir, a brand made by one of Indonesian celebrity, Ina Thomas. In this post, I will deliver my 10 day experience using Medina Organic Kefir.

Product

Each pack of Medina Organic Kefir has 10 small plastic package of Kefir. Each small plastic is used for 2 times usage. One for morning, one for night time. To detoxify our skin, this product should not be used with any type of skincare. The texture of the product is like yogurt but with an additional soft kefir scrub. The scrub will melt easily once being in contact with warm water. So I assume that the scrub is made from pure good fat from the Kefir. The type of Kefir that I bought is the Green Tosca that is designed for normal to oily skin.

Price

For a package of the Medina Organic Kefir Mask costs IDR.330.000. This is a bit more pricy compared by other Kefir mask product available in online shops. However, the Medina Organic Kefir had received many great feedbacks from its users, including many socialite in Jakarta. It is definitely worth the hype to try.


Ina Thomas sells this product by having several suppliers in many different cities around Indonesia. Since this product should always being kept cool, make sure to purchase it from the nearest supplier. The supplier could be found in Instagram. Since I am living in Yogyakarta, I've purchased mine from Instagram account @medinakefir_jogja

Usage

During the 10 days detox, I did not put any other skin care in my face. Some days I use makeup in the morning. I use the Kefir mask twice a day, once right after bed, and once before bed. The Kefir mask should be kept frozen all the time. Thus, I took some time to melt the small package in a room temperature.  After melted, I put half of the product in a glass bowl and put the remaining in the freezer for night usage.

Usage Experience

Half of the small package will be able to cover all of my face area, including my neck area. I put a very thin layer to it in order to make it fit. Because it is from the fridge, obviously it gives a very cooling effect. Unlike many other masks, the Medina Organic Kefir Mask does not give any tingling effect at all. This is a good sign of its organic and pure ingredients. To explain my experience of using Medina Organic Kefir Mask, I will highlight the result it brings in several days of usage.

Day 1:

My skin is super oily during the day. I also have many small blackheads and small acne on my face. I also have several scar in my cheek resulted from my previous acne. My pores are super large, and I also have hyper-pigmentation in several areas of my skin.

Day 4:



I've noticed that my skin seems a bit lighter than before. My skin also felt so much smoother. The pores in my skin seems to be smaller. The blackheads in my nose cannot be felt anymore.



Several small blackheads in my forehead tends to grow into small acne.



The dark spots in my cheeks started to blur. Just like my forehead, the blackheads in my cheeks also started to turn into small acne. I honestly was scared of continuing this product in this stage. However, I am still curious about the effect in 10 days.

Day 7:



My skin felt super soft! During the day, my skin produces less oil than before. I love how it helps me to reduce those unpleasant oil.



However, the small acne in my forehead seems to grow even more. Although acnes were developed, the acne is very dry. It is unlike the acne that I usually have.



Pores are significantly reduced. Black spots are also reduces. The small acne in my cheeks is also drying just like the one in the forehead.

Day 10:



This the end of the detox mask. In this stage, I felt my skin is at its healthiest as ever! It is very supple. My makeup stayed on better. The texture of my skin also supports me to put less makeup than before. I used to be so dependent with foundations. But after the detox period, it is enough for me to put on just powder for my daily makeup.



The acnes in my forehead looks completely dry. I've just have to wait for some times for it to completely disappear. I made a personal conclusion that the acnes that were developed is a part of a detoxing result. This is because the acne dries instantly and the skin rejuvenate by its own.


After 10 days of religiously using the Medina Organic Kefir Mask as a detox mask, I've felt several significant effect to my skin. Those are:

1. Tighter pores.
2. Brighter skin.
3. Reduced of blackheads.
4. Drying acne.
5. Reduced black spots.
6. Reduced excess oil during the day.
7. More supple and soft skin.

Giordani Gold is one of the product line of Oriflame, a Swedish cosmetics company that sells its product through multi-level marketing scheme. Oriflame itself is very popular in Indonesia and adored by many women of Indonesia. I personally rarely used Oriflame, but I have to give it a try on one of their premium line, Giordani.

Giordani Gold Voluptuous Lipstick is designed to be one of Oriflame luxury line that are inspired by the elegance and elusive of classical Italian lifestyle. Each of the Giordani Gold Voluptuous Lipstick is sold for IDR. 198.000 which is actually quite a premium price for a lipstick. Its luxury is obviously shown by its packaging. The lipstick is packaged in a very exclusive and sleek glass package, decorated with gold details. I personally adore the packaging.



The shade that I decide to get is called Fuchsia Petals. It is a settle red dipped with just a scent of purple in their shade. The product however offer two other shades that I did not get.



The amount of product inside the package is not as generous as what I've expect it to be. The shape of the lip product is like a small tube with a flat top. I personally prefer the traditional lipstick shape that has a more narrow shape at its top to make the application on my lips becomes easier. However, the round flat tube shape of the Giordani Gold lipstick makes it a bit challenging for me to apply.



The consistency of the lipstick itself is very velvet and moisturising. It is super moisturising that it adds an instant glow. Honestly it is not a good thing for a matte lover like me. Just like any other moisturising lip product, the Giordani Gold lipstick needs an extra swipe on the application for perfect pigmentation.





The application in my lips tends to make my face looks a bit older than I am. It is super glossy which I am also not a fan of.



This is what it looks like after finishing one meal. As you can see that all the product has disappeared in my lips. But if we look closely the lip product leaves a tinted red to my lips. So yes it does stains a bit.


FINAL RATING:
I will give the Giordani Gold Voluptuous Lipstick a 6/10. I like the packaging so much. The moisturising effect does helps too. However, I am not a fan of its colour and its consistency. The pricing is also a bit overpriced for this quality in my honest opinion.

Bourjois is always stepping up its game when it comes to mascara. I found that Bourjois mascara has a very good quality. When I took a stroll at Sogo Plaza Senayan, I stopped by the Bourjois stall that has sale promotion and bought one of their mascara line, the Bourjois Volume Glam Max Mascara. The price of this product is IDR. 175.000. This is a higher price compared to other drugstore mascara.

The Bourjois Volume Glam Max Mascara has a very thick bristles that will allow the product to be spread thicker. The consistency of the mascara itself is thick and sticky. The wand is very steady that allows the application to be easier.

Before Mascara

I don't have many eyelashes to work on. That's why I've always wanted a very thick and full result of lashes after an application of a mascara. I rely much on mascara!

After Application

During the application, it turns out that the trick and sticky consistency of the mascara paste makes it difficult to apply. After each swipe of product, the paste will turn leave a very thin "spider web" like lines that will stick to my eye lids when I blink. As you can see in the picture above, some of the mascara were accidentally stick to my lids.

After Application

The after result seems to be not thick enough for me. I don't think that the mascara gives volume like what I've imagined it to be. The very sticky consistency makes my lashes sticks to each other instead of giving it more volume.

FINAL RATE:

I rate this product to be a 4/10.

I honestly always adore women that has great lashes, although they are just using fake lashes. However, I never had the guts to wear fake lashes for daily makeup.

When I went to my favourite beauty store in town (the legendary Toko Mutiara), I stopped by the lashes stalls and fell in love with the Xpert brand. The fake lashes brand offers such a huge variety of lashes, from the very thin to the dramatic thick lashes. Moreover, the price of the lashes are super affordable.

I'd like to start first with the lash glue. The Xpert lash glue is only sold for IDR. 30.000. This is such an affordable price compared to the other great lash glue brands. The shop attendance said that the lash glue is really good. It stayed on well and it dries fast. And she was right! I love how the glue is actually has a clear colour thus helps the applications to be more natural. The lash glue itself indeed dried up fast, so I admit that we need to work on it super fast. It stayed on very well after the application, however I found it to be not so long lasting. The edge of the lashes tends to went off after about 5 hours of applications, especially when the face gets super oily. So better make sure to bring the glue in hand if we have super long day.

For the lashes, the brand comes in huge range of lash type. The type that I choose to buy is No.30. This particular fake lashes I see it to be quite decent for natural looking lashes. The lashes is sold only for IDR.9.000. Great bargain right?! 

After the application of the X-pert lashes in No.30, my lashes becomes naturally full. What I like about this particular lashes is that it works well both for daily neutral makeup, or dramatic smoky makeup.

The only downside of the X-pert lashes are the band of the lashes. The bands are quite thick compared to other lashes I've tried before. It makes it quite difficult to work with when we try to make it as natural as possible.

PROS:

+ Affordable price

+ Natural finish

+ Wide variety

+ Glue works well

CONS:

- Thick band

- Glue does not stay on long enough

CONCLUSION:

I love it. Although there are several cons about this product, however it can still be managed well. The fact that the lashes are super affordable is a plus for me because it enables us to use these lashes on daily basis without the guilt.

I know that I am very late to talk about the magic of Mane 'n Tail hair products. The hype was just sooooo yesterday. I was very sceptical about the hype at first. Because for me, shampoo is just shampoo. No significance to buy the cheap or expensive one. But I was wrong..:D

I've purchased my first Mane 'n Tail shampoo in Guardian just because I found a great bargain in their monthly sale. So I said to myself, "why not treat my hair with some pricy shampoo".

The shampoo itself contains olive oil that will nourishes our hair quite well. The conditioners will provide shine to our hair. The shampoo has an anti dandruff formula that really suits me well at this time.

I am so happy with the after result of the first time usage on this product. My hair becomes very easy to handle. My hair is usually frizzy after every shampoo. But with this product, my frizz significantly reduced. There is also an instant shine without having to put additional hair product in my hair. 

I believe that this product is worth the investment. Will I repeat the purchase? Definitely yes!

They also have one for Malaysia and Singapore. 

The products sold in this website are Korean cosmetics. Most of them are the products that are not yet available widely in Indonesia. They are all sold in discounted price. Thus the price is way bellow the counter price in Indonesia.

Although they are sold in a crazy discount price, they claim their product to be 100% authentic with a money-back guarantee. The best price is offered because the website claims that each product were from the main producers in Korea. Thus, what we pay will be the best price offered.

If we are not satisfied with the product, they also offered a 30 days refund policy. Although if we conduct a refund we have to pay the shipping payment to Korea, however they will return back the shipping payment a maximum of IDR.25.000 that will be given in the form of shopping vouchers that we can use for our future shopping.

In this article, I would tell you guys my likes and dislikes about shopping in this website.

1. Variety of Product

They such a huge variety of product! Most of them are product that I've never heard of in Indonesia. Because of that, it is very fun to try them!

2. Ease of Payment

The payment options is well varied. There is a possibility to shop although you don't have a credit card. Debit card is also accepted. For the Indonesian website, we can also pay through the nearest Alfamart. What you need to do is to just click on the payment options that you prefer best in the checkout payment.

3. Price and Money Converter

Since the website is modified according to countries, the price presented in the Indonesian website has been converted directly to Indonesian Rupiah. So unlike other international website, in Althea, we don't have to be crazily confused with converting the currency of the price we need to pay. We don't also have to worry much about the currency rate since it has been counted automatically by the website.

4. Discounts and Bonuses

Almost all of their product are discounted! Not just the splurged of the crazy discount, customers are also welcomed with a free IDR.100.000 voucher upon signing-up to the website. This voucher could be used without any minimum order. If we're lucky, they also like to send free samples along with our orders. What a bargain!

5. Free Shipping

If we the product that we've ordered worth more than IDR.500.000, we can get a free shipping from Korea to our door. When I purchased through the website, there is a promotion session that customers could receive free shipping for IDR.300.000 worth of shopping. I cannot be more happy for this!

6. Packaging

The Packaging of Althea Upon Arival

The packaging was great!!! It comes in a beautiful pink box covered with Shocking Pink plastic. Each product was also protected with bubble wraps to ensure that each product does not break apart.

1. Shipping Options and Delivery

During the checkout process, I could not find any shipping options. Unlike any other international shopping websites that allows customer to choose their shipping options from the fastest to the slowest shipping options. 

2. Handling Time

The handling time took a while. It took more than 1 week since I conduct payment to the day I received a notification that my orders has been shipped. That is too long in my personal opinion! I've put my order on Saturday, 14 May 2016, and received my tracking number on Tuesday, 24 May 2016. However, the shipping time was quite fast, counted since the day I've received my tracking number. I've received my package on Saturday, 28 May 2016.

FINAL THOUGHTS

Will I repurchase again from Althea? Definitely YES!!! I love the quality of the product and also the great packaging. The price is a bargain, compared to when purchasing in Indonesia.
