What I do when I buy too pale lipstick?

I am just so into nudes. That's why I sometimes go crazy when finding nude lips products. Especially if it is drugstore products. I adore..!!! Unfortunately, sometimes the colour looks good on my hands, but pale on my lips.

Those lip colours that were too pale on me used to be just thrown out in my makeup basket to be untouched. Recently I've been experimenting on mixing on lip colours. The pale, mixed with the darker lipsticks or lip gloss.

The result is stunning! What I love about mixing colours is the fact that the colours actually tend to be build-able. If you want darker shades, just put on more of the dark colours. And if you want lighted shades, you just need to do the other way around. This is just a great solution to have new colours to your lips without even buying new ones.

One of the most favourite mixture of colours that I love recently is the Maybelline Bold Matte in MAT7 mixed with the Maybelline Velvet Matte in MAT12. I love the after result of the soft nude peachy pink colour that is so much suited for a natural everyday look.

I can't wait to experiment on more colours!

How To Post Blog Posts From BlackBerry or Other Smartphone Device

Yay!!! Finally I can post blog post from my BlackBerry. Thanks to the information given by "Kumpulan Emak Blogger".

I know that for Wordpress, there is already an app for it that can be freely downloaded via BlackBerry World. But for Blogspot? I haven't find any..:(

So I just find out that there is an alternative for posting blog post via BlackBerry. We can use the Email service. Here's what you need to do:

  1. Log on to your Blogspot account via the PC. Go to Dashboard -- Settings -- Mobile and Email.
  2. On the "Email" detail, click "Publish Email Immediately"
  3. Then there is a detail that shows the email address. Usually the first word is the email account you use to register for your blog. Then there is an empty box beside it that you have to put a "secret" word. Example: Blogging.Asik. _______ .@blogger.com ; You fill in the box then become Blogging.Asik.Sukasuka@blogger.com (this will be the email address to post your blog post).
  4. Then using your push up email service in your BlackBerry, just send a regular email to the "blogger" email address that you have got. If you want to post pictures in it, just attach pictures in the email.
The only unpleasant thing of posting blog post via push-up email, is the detailed information attached in the end of the email post. For my case, it is "Sent from my BlackBerry® smartphone from Sinyal Bagus XL, Nyambung Teruuusss...!"

Anyway, I'm so happy since now I can update my blog with short posts whenever I'm not around my PC. For example, when I'm travelling, and I see interesting thing that I want to immediately share with all of you readers..

Wife as the "Bread Winner"

Yesterday as I was shopping in one of Jogjakarta shopping mall, I went by the magazine section and decided to buy the Marie Claire October 2012 edition. One of the articles in that magazine discusses the issue of women in a marriage relationship that by opportunities gained higher salary that the man (husband). This article is very interesting to me because with the enhancement of today's generation, woman are able to compete equally with man in any field of work. There is no more burden that makes women unable to compete with man in their work life.

In the Indonesia culture, there is a strong perception that man (husband) should be the head of a family that is responsible for the financing of the family, while woman (wife) is responsible for the management of the family. Because that culture has strongly embed in the Indonesian society, it becomes a taboo situation when the man (husband) receives lower salary than the women (wife).

In some situation, when the wife have higher salary and position, it creates a very stressful situation for the husband. This is because the husband felt that there are under a threat because their role as the head of the family becomes threatened. Sometimes, the personality of the husband tend to change in a negative degree (example from being loving to hurtful) because of the stress they burden. In fact, many people said that a family that positions the wife as the main "bread hunter" will create a potential of conflicts, especially on the financial issues.

So on the article written on Marie Claire, I learned several actions that will enable the minimization of conflicting situations when the wife has higher salary that the husband.

First, even though the wife salary is higher than the husband salary, make sure that the husband is still the main "bread winner". This means that the responsibility of the marriage expenses (example the children school tuition, daily expenses) is still being the husband responsibility. If in some situation, the husband cannot manage to be responsible for the expenses, then there should be a discussion first before the wife take a step to help. In this way, the husband will feel honored and respected. Then, they should also be able to manage an equal lifestyle. Its is also very important to discuss everything with the partner including the sensitive issue of "financing". Last but not least, is respect. If you want to be respected by your partner, you first have to respect your partner.

So for all the women out there in the world who have the ability to have higher income than their husband, be proud! But, never forget to respect your partner. Always remember that your relationship worth more than any money in the world. So do not let money destroy the joy of the relationship.

A Year Which Just Past By: My Journey of Studying in United Kingdom

I cannot believe that it has been a year since my first arrival to Glasgow, United Kingdom. It was a very long and unpredictable journey. I was very lucky to experience that, even though with a very sudden preparation. It was not an easy journey to step my feet on the Royal Land of United Kingdom. This is the short story about my very long journey in the Royal Land of United Kingdom.

Going for master degree after graduating my undergraduate study, had been the very long plan of mine. My parents was very kind to give full support until their very limit. Not only financial support that they are willing to give, but they also wonderfully give mental support in the form of motivation and advice. However, going to study in the UK was not the plan! We did not even consider having me studying in the UK. Not even a single thought.

Our plan until the very last minute was to prepare for taking master degree in Australia. The land that were deeply attached to my heart because I spend most of my childhood time in that beautiful land. So we prepared every single detail of it to go to Australia. Financial planning, IELTS tests, recommendation letter, and any other documents to support my application to universities in Australia. Months after the preparation I was blessed to be accepted in one of the best rating university in Australia. A university which the vice president of Indonesia (Mr. Budiono) graduated from. The class starts at February 2012. I was accepted approximately on June 2011. So I still have a lot of time before my departure. I was blessed.

God hands work in an unpredictable manner. One day, somewhere in the beginning of August 2011, I visited my friend house just to have a chat. Her name is Myra. A very good friend of mine during my undergrad study. That day, I cannot remember the beginning of the story, Myra suddenly told me a story about her big brother who had finish his master degree in the UK. She suddenly gives me an advice. I remember it so well because these sentences had changed my plan dramatically.

She said to me: "Dini, why didn't you go to the UK instead? I know that the Poundsterling rate is so damn high. But think about it, master degree in the UK will only take 1 year if you're on track. In Australia it takes 2.5 years if you're on track. So if you accumulate your spending until you finish your course, UK will be way much cheaper. The education system in the UK is also so good."

That sentences opened my eyes dramatically. It changed my mind in advance. At that moment I suddenly  think, "I have to study in the UK".

So as I went back home, I called my dad directly to talk about what Myra said to me. He agreed directly. From that second, our plan turns into a different direction. We will now focus on getting my master in the UK.

As I arrived home, I rushed into my laptop and starts Googling the universities which provides the major I am interested to study (Marketing). So I came by three Universities (University of Strathclyde, University of Birmingham, and University of Manchester). There is one problem that occurs. The class for the year 2011 admission starts in mid-September 2011. It was August already at that. Time seems to be impossible for me to enter the September 2011 admission period. So I act nothing to loose. I just continue to do what I have to do.


Don't be afraid to change into another direction. If the other direction gives better values, why not give it a try?


Right the next day, I contacted an Education Consulting Agent (IBEC) to help me with my application. I understand that with this very limited of time, I will need an education consultant. I was lucky enough to be advised by Mr.Hendra, the head of that education consulting agent. He gives me lists of documents that I have to send to him to complete my application. I also contacted my professors to ask for another letter of recommendation. They were surprised because I changed direction in a very short period of time. One of them even said: "Handini, it is impossible for you to be accepted this year. The time is very limited and you will still need to process many other things. It is impossible. It is impossible.." (he said the word "impossible" three times). But I replied: "Sir, you cannot say you can't before you try".

Never said you can't before you try! It will be more painful to not trying to do what you wish to do rather than failing on things you have done your best to do. Don't be afraid to take new opportunities. What's important is to do your best, let God do the rest.

Seeing my dedication and motivation, they easily signed my recommendation letter. I prepared all the documents needed just in one day. The next day, I directly fly to Jakarta to meet Mr.Hendra and to complete the application documents.

Things does not always goes smooth. When the day I arrived in IBEC office, Mr.Hendra starts to call those three universities I've selected to ask if they still can provide just one more seat for one student. We have to wait until 16:00 Indonesian time because we have to wait for UK office hours. Unfortunately, University of Manchester and University of Birmingham is already full. They cannot accept more students.

Frustrated? Not even. I still have an opportunity with Strathclyde. So I decided to still go with my application. Again, I act like I have nothing to loose.

I prayed every single day. If it is what's best for me, please let it be.

Finally.. Couple of days after my application, I received an Unconditional Letter of Acceptance. This means that I am fully accepted to take master degree in University of Strathclyde, United Kingdom. I was filled with joy. Right after I received the email from  the university conforming my status, I directly complete any payments needed to be payed (tuition fee). I also booked a student accommodation online.

After that process, I have to apply for my student Visa. I will need a CAS number (Confirmation of Acceptance for Study) to apply for my visa. The University said that it will take approximately 1 week for me to receive it. Unfortunately, things does not go as expected. I've waited until Mid September, the CAS number has not been sent. I called the University conforming this situation. They said that they cannot control this situation because CAS number is issued by the Ministry of Education in United Kingdom. It is not the University that issued this letter. So the only thing that the university can do is to issue a permission letter to arrive late for class. It is a kind of relieve hearing a slight solution for my situation at that moment. But deep inside my heart, I believe that I can arrive on time.

Again, I prayed every single day. You will when you believe! So I believe that I can arrive on time for class. Positive thoughts will lead to positive results. That is the law of attraction!

After days and days of waiting, on 20 September 2011, I received my CAS number. FYI, that is just 5 days before the first day of class. As soon as I received the letter, I rushed to the UKBA (UK Border Agency) to apply for my Visa. It was the most challenging moment of my life (in Indonesian, we called it "Sport Jantung").

I got my Visa approved on Friday, 23 September 2011 at 10:00. The flight that I booked will fly on Saturday, 24 September 2011 at 0:15. So I received my visa just 14 hours before my departure! I rushed to the UKBA to collect my Visa. Then go around Jakarta to search for Poundsterling. FYI, it is not an easy task to ask for a lot of Poundsterling in a very limited time. Fiuuuhh... Such a stressful day.

But again. Even though it was so stressful, but I felt so much blessed. This means that I can arrive in time for class. I don't need to skip any classes.

Short story short, I flew to Glasgow, United Kingdom and arrived safely. I did not have anyone to pick me up in the airport. This is because all the Indonesian students which I have got contacted to is busy with their student orientation activities. It's all right. I use taxi to take me from the airport to the student accommodation which I booked already. I was lucky enough to have such a pleasant place to live. Collegeland, is my home for the next 52 weeks.

My first day of school starts on Monday, 26 September 2011. I was very happy to meet lots of great people from many different countries. India, China, Pakistan, Italy, Greece, Thailand, and many other countries that I cannot mention one by one. I also have a friend from our closest country neighbor, Malaysia.

On the 2nd of October 2011, I met all the Indonesian students in the Glasgow area for the first time. It was the day where we go around Glasgow in Batik. We proudly promotes Batik in the nation of far away. We chat and exchange numbers so that we can keep in touch.

My first holiday in the UK is a trip to Loch Ness. I was invited to take a one day trip by an Indonesian friend of mine. As I remembered, I think it was the next weekend after the Batik day. I took that opportunity to get to know some Indonesian friends a bit more personal and closer. I am blessed until this moment (the day I write this article), we still remain best friends.

Among the Indonesian students, we had a very good relationship. To some, we act like family. I am very blessed to receive such a caring family in Glasgow. "Duke Street Citizens", "Roebank Citizens", and the "Blackfriars Court Citizens" is my most closest family of mine in Glasgow. Thank you for the wonderful love and joy you give to me. Especially for "Pakdhe Dito" who always cook for me every time I got "home sick". I will not forget the sate buntel, tongseng kambing, and the katetong..:D

During my study in the UK, I manage to travel to many different cities outside the Glasgow area. I'm very happy to meet more and more friends when visiting to different cities. I am happy to meet more and more great Indonesians such as Davina from Leeds, and Happy from Manchester. You guys are uniquely awesome!

The most unforgettable trip was when we celebrate new years eve in Edinburgh. It was unforgettable because we have to struggle in the freezing weather and the storm. Plus, we go from one club to other club just to find a "free place" to sit and warm up (mahasiswa gak modal). Having no sleep time because we have no place to sleep. We also experience being kicked out from a student accommodation building because we secretly sleep in their common room. The experience was Priceless!

London was also a memorable city during my stay in the UK. It is because I visited this city twice for two important events. Both were priceless! My first trip was a "business trip" to one of the world biggest consulting company. My second trip was a trip to hunt for BIRKINS...!!!!! That's why I called London as a priceless city, because I always conduct a priceless trip to London.

Another awesome events while living in the UK is the opportunity to experience London Olympics 2012. I was lucky enough to receive free tickets to see a female football match between USA and Colombia in the Hampden Football Field. Even though I have no idea about football, but I felt blessed having the opportunity to experience the "Olympic atmosphere".

I understand that reading this post creates an image that all I did in the UK was just to travel and to have fun. Well, it's not true at all. I've experienced several ups and downs also in my study period. The best experience which adds values to my study is the opportunity for me and 5 of my other friends to work as a consulting team for one of Scotland biggest food and drinks distributor. I was blessed because I can experience a very rare opportunity to experience the "Scottish" working environment. It was one of the best learning process of my master degree period.

Now, a year had went passed by. It felt that everything happens so fast like a glimpse of light. It was priceless yet meaningful. I cannot regret any single thing from this very long journey.

Today, just one year after my arrival in Glasgow, I am now returned to Indonesia. I returned back home on August 2012 before the Ramadhan. Now, I cannot wait for my second journey to the UK. But this time, the journey is for GRADUATION.


Never be the first person who doubts your own ability.
Don't be afraid to change to different direction for a better cause.
Always remember to believe in yourself...

Stay Hungry, Stay Foolish: Steve Jobs' Famous Speech

I am honored to be with you today at your commencement from one of the finest universities in the world. I never graduated from college. Truth be told, this is the closest I've ever gotten to a college graduation. Today I want to tell you three stories from my life. That's it. No big deal. Just three stories.



The first story is about connecting the dots.

I dropped out of Reed College after the first 6 months, but then stayed around as a drop-in for another 18 months or so before I really quit. So why did I drop out?

It started before I was born. My biological mother was a young, unwed college graduate student, and she decided to put me up for adoption. She felt very strongly that I should be adopted by college graduates, so everything was all set for me to be adopted at birth by a lawyer and his wife. Except that when I popped out they decided at the last minute that they really wanted a girl. So my parents, who were on a waiting list, got a call in the middle of the night asking: "We have an unexpected baby boy; do you want him?" They said: "Of course." My biological mother later found out that my mother had never graduated from college and that my father had never graduated from high school. She refused to sign the final adoption papers. She only relented a few months later when my parents promised that I would someday go to college.

And 17 years later I did go to college. But I naively chose a college that was almost as expensive as Stanford, and all of my working-class parents' savings were being spent on my college tuition. After six months, I couldn't see the value in it. I had no idea what I wanted to do with my life and no idea how college was going to help me figure it out. And here I was spending all of the money my parents had saved their entire life. So I decided to drop out and trust that it would all work out OK. It was pretty scary at the time, but looking back it was one of the best decisions I ever made. The minute I dropped out I could stop taking the required classes that didn't interest me, and begin dropping in on the ones that looked interesting.

It wasn't all romantic. I didn't have a dorm room, so I slept on the floor in friends' rooms, I returned coke bottles for the 5¢ deposits to buy food with, and I would walk the 7 miles across town every Sunday night to get one good meal a week at the Hare Krishna temple. I loved it. And much of what I stumbled into by following my curiosity and intuition turned out to be priceless later on. Let me give you one example:

Reed College at that time offered perhaps the best calligraphy instruction in the country. Throughout the campus every poster, every label on every drawer, was beautifully hand calligraphed. Because I had dropped out and didn't have to take the normal classes, I decided to take a calligraphy class to learn how to do this. I learned about serif and san serif typefaces, about varying the amount of space between different letter combinations, about what makes great typography great. It was beautiful, historical, artistically subtle in a way that science can't capture, and I found it fascinating.

None of this had even a hope of any practical application in my life. But ten years later, when we were designing the first Macintosh computer, it all came back to me. And we designed it all into the Mac. It was the first computer with beautiful typography. If I had never dropped in on that single course in college, the Mac would have never had multiple typefaces or proportionally spaced fonts. And since Windows just copied the Mac, it's likely that no personal computer would have them. If I had never dropped out, I would have never dropped in on this calligraphy class, and personal computers might not have the wonderful typography that they do. Of course it was impossible to connect the dots looking forward when I was in college. But it was very, very clear looking backwards ten years later.

Again, you can't connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backwards. So you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future. You have to trust in something - your gut, destiny, life, karma, whatever. This approach has never let me down, and it has made all the difference in my life.

My second story is about love and loss.

I was lucky - I found what I loved to do early in life. Woz and I started Apple in my parents' garage when I was 20. We worked hard, and in 10 years Apple had grown from just the two of us in a garage into a $2 billion company with over 4000 employees. We had just released our finest creation - the Macintosh - a year earlier, and I had just turned 30. And then I got fired. How can you get fired from a company you started? Well, as Apple grew we hired someone who I thought was very talented to run the company with me, and for the first year or so things went well. But then our visions of the future began to diverge and eventually we had a falling out. When we did, our Board of Directors sided with him. So at 30 I was out. And very publicly out. What had been the focus of my entire adult life was gone, and it was devastating.

I really didn't know what to do for a few months. I felt that I had let the previous generation of entrepreneurs down - that I had dropped the baton as it was being passed to me. I met with David Packard and Bob Noyce and tried to apologize for screwing up so badly. I was a very public failure, and I even thought about running away from the valley. But something slowly began to dawn on me - I still loved what I did. The turn of events at Apple had not changed that one bit. I had been rejected, but I was still in love. And so I decided to start over.

I didn't see it then, but it turned out that getting fired from Apple was the best thing that could have ever happened to me. The heaviness of being successful was replaced by the lightness of being a beginner again, less sure about everything. It freed me to enter one of the most creative periods of my life.

During the next five years, I started a company named NeXT, another company named Pixar, and fell in love with an amazing woman who would become my wife. Pixar went on to create the world's first computer animated feature film, Toy Story, and is now the most successful animation studio in the world. In a remarkable turn of events, Apple bought NeXT, I returned to Apple, and the technology we developed at NeXT is at the heart of Apple's current renaissance. And Laurene and I have a wonderful family together.

I'm pretty sure none of this would have happened if I hadn't been fired from Apple. It was awful tasting medicine, but I guess the patient needed it. Sometimes life hits you in the head with a brick. Don't lose faith. I'm convinced that the only thing that kept me going was that I loved what I did. You've got to find what you love. And that is as true for your work as it is for your lovers. Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven't found it yet, keep looking. Don't settle. As with all matters of the heart, you'll know when you find it. And, like any great relationship, it just gets better and better as the years roll on. So keep looking until you find it. Don't settle.

My third story is about death.

When I was 17, I read a quote that went something like: "If you live each day as if it was your last, someday you'll most certainly be right." It made an impression on me, and since then, for the past 33 years, I have looked in the mirror every morning and asked myself: "If today were the last day of my life, would I want to do what I am about to do today?" And whenever the answer has been "No" for too many days in a row, I know I need to change something.

Remembering that I'll be dead soon is the most important tool I've ever encountered to help me make the big choices in life. Because almost everything - all external expectations, all pride, all fear of embarrassment or failure - these things just fall away in the face of death, leaving only what is truly important. Remembering that you are going to die is the best way I know to avoid the trap of thinking you have something to lose. You are already naked. There is no reason not to follow your heart.

About a year ago I was diagnosed with cancer. I had a scan at 7:30 in the morning, and it clearly showed a tumor on my pancreas. I didn't even know what a pancreas was. The doctors told me this was almost certainly a type of cancer that is incurable, and that I should expect to live no longer than three to six months. My doctor advised me to go home and get my affairs in order, which is doctor's code for prepare to die. It means to try to tell your kids everything you thought you'd have the next 10 years to tell them in just a few months. It means to make sure everything is buttoned up so that it will be as easy as possible for your family. It means to say your goodbyes.

I lived with that diagnosis all day. Later that evening I had a biopsy, where they stuck an endoscope down my throat, through my stomach and into my intestines, put a needle into my pancreas and got a few cells from the tumor. I was sedated, but my wife, who was there, told me that when they viewed the cells under a microscope the doctors started crying because it turned out to be a very rare form of pancreatic cancer that is curable with surgery. I had the surgery and I'm fine now.

This was the closest I've been to facing death, and I hope it's the closest I get for a few more decades. Having lived through it, I can now say this to you with a bit more certainty than when death was a useful but purely intellectual concept:

No one wants to die. Even people who want to go to heaven don't want to die to get there. And yet death is the destination we all share. No one has ever escaped it. And that is as it should be, because Death is very likely the single best invention of Life. It is Life's change agent. It clears out the old to make way for the new. Right now the new is you, but someday not too long from now, you will gradually become the old and be cleared away. Sorry to be so dramatic, but it is quite true.

Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life. Don't be trapped by dogma - which is living with the results of other people's thinking. Don't let the noise of others' opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.

When I was young, there was an amazing publication called The Whole Earth Catalog, which was one of the bibles of my generation. It was created by a fellow named Stewart Brand not far from here in Menlo Park, and he brought it to life with his poetic touch. This was in the late 1960's, before personal computers and desktop publishing, so it was all made with typewriters, scissors, and polaroid cameras. It was sort of like Google in paperback form, 35 years before Google came along: it was idealistic, and overflowing with neat tools and great notions.

Stewart and his team put out several issues of The Whole Earth Catalog, and then when it had run its course, they put out a final issue. It was the mid-1970s, and I was your age. On the back cover of their final issue was a photograph of an early morning country road, the kind you might find yourself hitchhiking on if you were so adventurous. Beneath it were the words: "Stay Hungry. Stay Foolish." It was their farewell message as they signed off. Stay Hungry. Stay Foolish. And I have always wished that for myself. And now, as you graduate to begin a new success, I wish that for you.

DIY: Hair Mask For Damage Hair

As what I have been posted in my previous post, I have been living in the UK for about 6 month. I am currently doing my master degree in the UK. For your information though, I come to UK with not much money. Limited budget on the wallet..


Short story short, I cannot afford to go to the salon to have my hair treatment just like what I usually do back in Indonesia once every month. I can't also bother to buy the hair treatment products available in a market. I don't know why I become so picky in consumption ever since I arrive in the UK.

Because of the high level of stress and pressure the university had given me in the past 6 month (thanks a lot Strathclyde) plus having my hair highly "untreated", the unexpected happens. My hair starts to complain. It has break outs, dandruff, and massive hair fall (yuck!!!).

NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!

I was frustrated. I browse in the internet to find the cheapest solution for my hair. Finally, I found one website that answers it. I tried it. And it works like MAGIC..!

So this post will share a simple DIY (Do It Yourself) tutorial that works like magic.

All the thinks I need is there right in my kitchen.

First we need 1 egg. Egg whites are packed with protein, and egg yolks are rich in vitamins including vitamin D, which promotes hair growth. According to stophairlossnow.com, the fatty acids in egg yolk reduce problems with fly-away hair and give locks a luminous appearance.

Then, 5 table spoon of mayonnaise. Mayonnaise helps to diminish split ends. According to allhairlosstreatments.com, some regular users of mayonnaise conditioning treatments say they slow both graying and hair loss.

Last but not least, 1 table spoon of extra virgin olive oil. It has been a public secret that princesses in the old age had used olive oil to keep the moisture of their skin and hair. The olive oil is optional though. If you have oily hair, I do not recommend you to add olive oil. But if your hair is like mine, very dry, I highly recommend you to use the olive oil.

To do it is very simple. Crack the egg, put in the bowl, then mix together with the mayonnaise and olive oil. Then shampoo your hair as usual. After that, dry your hair until it is just 50% - 70% dry. Then generously put the mixture all over the hair. Make sure you focus more on putting it on the bottom part of your hair.

Then clip your hair up. Cover your head with a plastic bag. The plastic bag will add the heat and helps the mixture to absorbs better to the hair. Leave for 15 to 30 minutes for it to absorb.

After it is done, rinse clean your hair with a cool water. Don't use hot water. Don't use shampoo. Dry your hair accordingly. Your hair will not smell good after that. So I recommend you to do this treatment at night so you can shampoo it in the morning to have the natural glow and great smell.

I tried this, and it works magic on me...

I will do this once a week to have my hair back to recovery..

The Passion Plan


If you could do one thing to transform your life, I would highly recommend it be to find something you’re passionate about, and do it for a living.

Now, this isn’t as easy as it sounds, but it’s well worth the effort. If you dread going to your job, or find yourself constantly lacking motivation, or find what you’re doing dull and repetitive, you need to start looking for a new job. Staying in your current job will not only continue to make you unhappy, but you are not realizing your full potential in life.

Imagine this instead: you get up early, jumping out of bed, excited to go to work. You might put in more hours than the average person, but it doesn’t seem difficult to you, because your work hours just zoom right by. You are often in that state of mind often referred to as “flow,” where you can lose track of the world and time, losing yourself in the task at hand. Work is not work as many people refer to it, but something that is fun and interesting and exciting. It’s not a “job” but a passion.

If you’ve got a job you dislike, or even hate, this will sound like a pipe dream to you. And if you never put in the effort to find what you’re passionate about, you’re right: such a thing will never be possible. But dare to dream, dare to imagine the possibilities, and dare to actually search for what you love, and it is not only a possibility, but a probability.

How can you find what you’re passionate about? Here are some suggestions:

Is there something you already love doing?
Do you have a hobby, or something you loved doing as a child, but never considered it as a possibility? Whether it’s reading comic books, collecting something, making something, creating or building, there is probably a way you could do it for a living. Open a comic book shop, or create a comic book site online. If there’s already something you love doing, you’re ahead of the game. Now you just need to research the possibilities of making money from it.

What do you spend hours reading about?
For myself, when I get passionate about something, I’ll read about it for hours on end. I’ll buy books and magazines. I’ll spend days on the Internet finding out more. There may be a few possibilities here for you … and all of them are possible career paths. Don’t close your mind to these topics. Look into them.

Brainstorm!
Nothing comes to mind right away? Well, get out a sheet of paper, and start writing down ideas. Anything that comes to mind, write it down. Look around your house, on your computer, on your bookshelf, for inspirations, and just write them down. There are no bad ideas at this stage. Write everything down, and evaluate them later.

Ask around, and surf for possibilities.
Ask other people for ideas. See what others have discovered as their passions. Look all over the Internet for ideas. The more possibilities you find, the more likely your chances of finding your true passion.

Don’t quit your job just yet.
If you find your calling, your passion, don’t just turn in your resignation tomorrow. It’s best to stay in your job while you’re researching the possibilities. If you can do your passion as a side job, and build up the income for a few months or a year, that’s even better. It gives you a chance to build up some savings (and if you’re going into business for yourself, you’ll need that cash reserve), while practicing the skills you need. See below for more.

Give it a try first.
It’s best to actually test your new idea before jumping into it as a career. Do it as a hobby or side job at first, so that you can see if it’s really your true calling. You may be passionate about it for a few days, but where the rubber meets the road is whether you’re passionate about it for at least a few months. If you pass this test, you have probably found it.

Do as much research as possible.
Know as much about your passion as possible. If this has been a passion for awhile, you may have already been doing this. At any rate, do even more research. Read every website possible on the topic, and buy the best books available. Find other people, either in your area or on the Internet, who do what you want to do for a living, and quiz them about the profession. How much do they make? What training and education did they need? What skills are necessary? How did they get their start? What recommendations do they have. Often you’ll find that people are more than willing to give advice.

Practice, and practice, and practice some more.
Don’t go into it with amateur skill level. If you want to make money — to be a professional — you need to have professional skills. Get very good at your future career and you will make money at it. Practice for hours on end. If it’s something you love, the practice should be something you want to do.

Never quit trying.
Can’t find your passion at first? Give up after a few days and you’re sure to fail. Keep trying, for months on end if necessary, and you’ll find it eventually. Thought you found your passion but you got tired of it? No problem! Start over again and find a new passion. There may be more than one passion in your lifetime, so explore all the possibilities. Found your passion but haven’t been successful making a living at it? Don’t give up. Keep trying, and try again, until you succeed. Success doesn’t come easy, so giving up early is a sure way to fail. Keep trying, and you’ll get there.


What I’ve outlined here is a lot of work … but it will be the best investment you’ve ever made.

Follow your passion, and you will be truly happy and incredibly fulfilled.

Roasted Chicken

On Christmas dinner I made home made Roasted Chicken. It is very simple to make. My friends all adore the Roasted Chicken. So I am going to share how to make a simple Roasted Chicken.

Hint: tbs = Table Spoon ; tsp = Tea Spoon

Ingredients:

1 Whole Chicken (around 1,5kg)
50gr Butter
1 tbs Chicken Seasoning
1 tbs Ginger Powder
1 tsp Cumin Powder
1/2 tsp Tumeric Powder
1 tbs Black Pepper Powder
1 tbs Garlic Powder
1/2 tsp Salt




Stuffing (mix all the stuffing):
1 whole big onion (slice them in thick chunks)
1 whole garlic (remove the skin)
1/2 tsp Ginger Powder
1/2 tsp Cumin Powder
1/2 tsp Tumeric Powder
1/2 tsp Black Pepper Powder
1/2 tsp Garlic Powder
1/2 tsp Salt

Utensils:
Spoon + Knife + Bowl
Baking Tray
Plastic Cling Firm
Aluminium Foil
Oven


HOW TO MAKE:
1. Melt the butter until it is soft and thick. Do not put too long in the pan otherwise it will turn into liquid like oil.


2. Mix the butter with chicken seasoning, ginger, cumin, tumeric, black pepper, garlic powders, and salt.


3. Prepare the one whole chicken on top of a "Plastic Cling Firm". Make sure the plastic is long enough to be able to cover all the surface of the chicken.


4. Cover all the surface of the chicken with the butter mix (in step 1). Make sure that it covers all the surface evenly. Don't forget to put some of the butter mix inside the chicken too. Even out with your fingers or spoon. After the butter is well spread, wrap the chicken with the "Plastic Cling Firm". Leave it to marinade for about 2 hours in room temperature.


5. After it is marinade, remove the "Plastic Cling Wrap". Put the Chicken on top of a baking tray that has been covered with "Aluminium Foil". Put all the stuffing inside the chicken body. Then, put the chicken into the oven for 60 minutes in 200 degrees Celsius.


6. After it is golden brown, remove the chicken from the oven. And that is it...! Your fresh home made delicious roasted chicken... ^_^



IMPORTANT TIPS:
1. Use rubber glove when rubbing the butter mix so you don't get your hand dirty and yellow because of the tumeric powder.

2. Turn the chicken over when it is half way cook (when 30 minutes) to get all the surface of the chicken evenly cooked and avoiding one part of the chicken to burn.

3. Change the pan for serving. The chicken will produce great amount of oil when it is cooked. So you will reduce the oil when you change your pan when serving the chicken.

To Love = To Bring Happiness

One day, a best friend of mine, which I treat him as a big brother, came to me starting a conversation about love..

He started his story by saying "I have to tell you a serious project of mine... I am chasing someone.. But currently she is still in a relationship with someone else". I know that this will become a very long conversation. So I put down things that I was working on to focus on this conversation. I will always be there for my Big Brother.. >.<

Without too much thinking I give him a direct response that some people may not agree. Some people might think it's something unethical. I said to him "If she is not married yet, why not... Go for it dude... This is not the time for ethics to speak. This is the time for your happiness to speak".

I understand that this will make my best friend a bastard. But honestly, what I mean by my answer is not to steel someone to be with you by force. But it is the action to make you an option for them to put you in their life by giving them happiness. Okay, it's complicated....

He replied to me by saying "Someone said to me, what they did to you is their Karma, what you did is your Karma. I am afraid that in the future I will loose her the way I got her".

Well, yes.. I do believe in Karma. That is why I am always very careful with things I do in this world. But once again, I am not suggesting him to steal her from her partner. I explain to him by him a story about someone that I know very well in my life. Let's just pretend their name as Liliana and Bill.

Liliana was a girl that was in relationship with someone older than her age. Her ex is someone who had a good career and have a future. They seem like a happy couple. However, Liliana was not happy with the relationship. She feels that he is very dominance in the relationship. He forced her to do things that transforms her into someone that he desires. They argue a lot. Liliana was not happy.

Meanwhile, a guy name Bill known as a friend of Liliana, have deep feelings to Liliana. Bill conducts anything he can to always make Liliana happy. Bill will always be there for Liliana whenever she needs him. He respects Liliana wisely. He share his vision with Liliana. He shows that love could be shown in many different way. He shows to Liliana that she is not alone in this world, and when the world left her behind, at least she still have Bill. Isn't that what loving really means? Bringing happiness to anyone we love in this world.

The purity of love and caring that Bill shows to Liliana opens her eyes that she deserves to be happy. Not a single person in this world have the rights to take away happiness from someone life. Liliana receive very big strength from deep inside her to leave her ex. It was quite uneasy for Liliana to end the relationship with her ex. But she have all the strength and courage to say no more to unhappiness.

And yes, now Liliana and Bill is a happy couple. So does Bill do something wrong that would give him his Karma? I believe not..

What I see is the fact that in the first stage all that Bill do is just to make the person that he LOVE to be HAPPY. He brings HAPPINESS to someone without considering who she is. It is not Bill that got Liliana, but it is Liliana that choose Bill to be in her life. So what is wrong with making a human being experiencing true happiness in life?

So I continue my conversation with my best friend by saying "Look, if you want to know that girl wants you or not, just try to make her happy without the aim of approaching here. Let her choose in her own. And if she does not choose you, at least yo know that she is experiencing more happiness with someone else. And you are relief that the girl that you love is happy".

Focus on bringing happiness. Just make the one you love in life HAPPY no matter they are your family, your friends, or even strangers. You choose them to be in your life, so let them choose you to be in their life by making them happy.

Maybelline BB Cream : PRODUCT REVIEW

Hei everyone..! It's been a very long time since I post my latest update on this blog. I've been so busy lately because of campus competition and also for preparing my comprehensive test as the requirement for me to graduate for university. Anyway, I'm back writing in this blog just for you all my lovely readers ^_^..

In this post, I want to review on Maybelline BB Cream that I bought at the Maybelline counter couple of weeks ago. I would like to make it clear that I'm not paid by Maybelline for this review. I bought the product with my own money, and does not receive a penny from Maybelline to review this product. So anything I wrote in this review will be purely on my honest opinion about the product.

To be honest, I'm not a make up expert. I'm also not a makeup addict. I don't really like thick makeup applied in my face. I like my make up to be very simple and natural. Sometimes I even have the guts to get out from the house without any makeup on. But when I'm in the mood for makeup, then I'll put very simple and natural makeup on.

Anyway, is there any of you does not know what BB cream is..??? Okay then, I'll explain what BB cream is, special for my lovely readers who are still uncommon with BB cream.

BB cream stands for Blemish Balm Cream. Lately, it is among one of Asia's hottest beauty products. Many sources stated that BB cream is first generated in Germany where dermatologist prescribe it to heal laser skin surgery because it has soothing and skin-regenerating properties. Famous South Korean actresses then began using it for beauty purposes and since Asian dramas are huge all over, a craze was born. The trend that started in Korea first spread to Japan then to South East Asia and is now quickly making its way to Europe and the USA.

Because of the boom in Asia, I'm so looking forward to try BB cream. So I decide to visit the Maybelline store to ask whether they have such product or not. I'm so happy that they have such product ready in store. Below is how the Maybelline BB cream looks like.



It comes in very simple packaging. I like the packaging because it is small, handy, and simple so it's very easy for me to carry it in my bag. It's also very easy to open. You just twist the lid once, and it will come off easily. To take out the cream from the packaging is also very easy. You just have to simply squeeze the bottle and liquid will get out from the package. It's also very hygiene since liquid that has been out from the bottle will not be able to be stored in again.



Above is the picture when the liquid is put in my hand. You can see that the liquid is not thick. It is very light. Just the way I like it. It could give such natural look and glow.

My review to this product will be based on the promises that Maybelline stated in the packaging. The review will be based purely on my experience using this product for about a couple of weeks lately.

Brightens Skin
Maybelline stated that this product will be able to give visible whitening effect. Yes baby.. This is so true. The color of this BB cream really fits with my skin. I have skin color that many Asian woman also have. It's bright and light. Maybelline BB cream is able to give more glow in my face and gives the whitening effect to it. But this does not mean that after using this product my face will look like a clown where its so white. It also does not give a pale look in my face.


Covers Imperfections
This product is expected to reduces the appearance of pores, and skin redness. To be honest my face is full of imperfections. I don't take care of my skin in a good way previously. So there are many black spots in my face created by my past acne. Using BB cream from Maybelline really helps me to cover the black spots. But this does not cover the spots 100%. Perhaps it's because of the lightness of this product.


Moisturizes + Protect
With its SPF 26/PA+++ Maybelline BB cream helps to protect skin from UV rays and free radicals. Well this is a good thing so it's enough for me to not put sunscreen in my face. The moisturizer in this product is also fairly good since it gives additional softness to my skin. It does not make my skin looks dry.


Likes:
  1. Simple packaging makes it very simple to put in my bag/purse.
  2. Comes in a very great bargain price. I bought mine only for Rp.45.000 or about USD 5.00.
  3. Very soft and light so it gives better natural look.
  4. It is long lasting that means one bottle will last for more than a month since you only need a little bit to be applied every time you wish to put your make up.

Dislikes:
  1. There are only one alternative of tones. So you cannot choose other colors because there are one tone only.
  2. It only comes in one small size. So if you really like this product and you decide to use it in a long-term, you probably have to go back and forth to your makeup store to buy this product.
  3. In my face, this BB cream only last no more than 6 hours. So I have to re-do my make up every 6 hours especially if I'm sweaty. But this perhaps differs among individuals since every individuals have different type of skins.
To conclude, I believe that all of you agree that this product is a good investment for your makeup inventories. It is also a good one to try. I mean, it really is nothing to loose to try this product.

Increasing Your Selling Up To More Than 200%

  • Don't use your company name as a title on the advertisement. Because it is not interesting and will make people not interested reading it. It means that you will loose your costumer. Make a title which is interesting such as "Buy a car now in Audy Cars, you will get a house". Write it as big as you can. But in the bottom of it write "for every $1000 you will get 1 lucky draw to win a house". You will get 80% of your costumer.
  • Put your advertisement on the right side of the newspaper.
  • Sell your product anytime and anywhere.
  • Do something unusual on the grand opening. For example "Don't miss it! A girl(you) will be riding a horse in the city street wearing a cinderella dress". With this, people will be interested on seing it. When you do that unusual thing, promote your product.
  • Give something for free if your costumer buy your product.

How To Save Your Money

A question for students :
What will you do when you got your pocket money given from your parent? The answer will be "Spend it all!!!".
If we got money, we always got this feeling. Wanting to spend the money. When we hold a lot of money, it will be easy for us to take it out and spend it. If we see something we like and we can afford it with our money, we definitly want to buy it. At the end we will find that we don't have the money anymore because we have spend the money with stuff that we actually doesn't need it.
For students, saving their pocket money will be something really difficult. At school there are a lot of delicious sweets and candy. We always want to buy them because they are very delicious. We also need the money to buy school stuff ( for some people ). There are some things you could do to save your money :
  • Find a bank which is close to your house or school.
  • Try to find a bank which got a small administration fees.
  • Don't ask for ATM.
  • Always pretend that those money are not yours.
  • When you got your pocket money, before you spend it, seperate at least 10% from your pocket money.
  • If the amount of the money which you had seperate from your pocket money is too small, put it in an anvelope and put it in a secret place ( remember not to take the money whatever the condition is).
  • If the amount of the money which you had seperate from your pocket money is enough, quickly save it on your bank.

If you save your money, when you need money to buy something which you really need, you will have the money to buy it, eventhough the things you needed cost a little bit expensive. How To Be Better In English

Today, english is a very important language. We need english anywhere. English is an international langguage. For some people, english could be something really difficult. Like in my country, Indonesia for example, most of the people in Indonesia always say that english is very difficult. Specially talking in english. In Indonesia children are force to study english since they are still on the first grade of elementary school. I agree with that. English should be introduce to children as soon as possible. They study english until they graduate senior high school. We can say that the have been studying english for 12 years. Wow....But what I see today is that after they graduate, they could not speak english fluantly. They could only write in english.
Those are because they are lazy to use thair english. When they learn about something, they only memorise it. Then after they take the exam, they will forget it. If you got the same problem, don't worry. It's never too late to study.There are some list of things which could help you to make your english better :
  • Every day you have to open your dictionary and look for at least one word. Memorise it and try to understand it.
  • Try to listen to english old songs. Why english old songs? Because english old songs has good structure, grammar, and the words mostly are daily used words. It's better if in one day you try to listen to one song and understand the meaning of the song. Sing the song just like how the real singer sang it ( the pronaonciation ).
  • Watch any movie you like which is spoken in english. Look at the one with the transelated text. Firstly, watch the movie by reading the transelation. Understand the movie. Then on the second time you watch that movie, close the transelated text.
