There is this hype in Indonesia which is a treatment to detoxify our face by putting on Kefir as a mask. Kefir is like a yogurt, but mostly made from goats milk. It is rich in probiotics, thus very healthy when consumed. Kefir is also believed beneficial for the skin when being used as a mask. The probiotics and dairy contains in the Kefir is believed to create more supple skin and to cure many impurities of skin. Several celebrity in Indonesia uses Kefir mask to neutralise their skin after days and days of thick makeup. One of the pioneers of Kefir mask brand is Medina Organic Kefir, a brand made by one of Indonesian celebrity, Ina Thomas. In this post, I will deliver my 10 day experience using Medina Organic Kefir.

Product

Each pack of Medina Organic Kefir has 10 small plastic package of Kefir. Each small plastic is used for 2 times usage. One for morning, one for night time. To detoxify our skin, this product should not be used with any type of skincare. The texture of the product is like yogurt but with an additional soft kefir scrub. The scrub will melt easily once being in contact with warm water. So I assume that the scrub is made from pure good fat from the Kefir. The type of Kefir that I bought is the Green Tosca that is designed for normal to oily skin.

Price

For a package of the Medina Organic Kefir Mask costs IDR.330.000. This is a bit more pricy compared by other Kefir mask product available in online shops. However, the Medina Organic Kefir had received many great feedbacks from its users, including many socialite in Jakarta. It is definitely worth the hype to try.


Ina Thomas sells this product by having several suppliers in many different cities around Indonesia. Since this product should always being kept cool, make sure to purchase it from the nearest supplier. The supplier could be found in Instagram. Since I am living in Yogyakarta, I've purchased mine from Instagram account @medinakefir_jogja

Usage

During the 10 days detox, I did not put any other skin care in my face. Some days I use makeup in the morning. I use the Kefir mask twice a day, once right after bed, and once before bed. The Kefir mask should be kept frozen all the time. Thus, I took some time to melt the small package in a room temperature.  After melted, I put half of the product in a glass bowl and put the remaining in the freezer for night usage.

Usage Experience

Half of the small package will be able to cover all of my face area, including my neck area. I put a very thin layer to it in order to make it fit. Because it is from the fridge, obviously it gives a very cooling effect. Unlike many other masks, the Medina Organic Kefir Mask does not give any tingling effect at all. This is a good sign of its organic and pure ingredients. To explain my experience of using Medina Organic Kefir Mask, I will highlight the result it brings in several days of usage.

Day 1:

My skin is super oily during the day. I also have many small blackheads and small acne on my face. I also have several scar in my cheek resulted from my previous acne. My pores are super large, and I also have hyper-pigmentation in several areas of my skin.

Day 4:



I've noticed that my skin seems a bit lighter than before. My skin also felt so much smoother. The pores in my skin seems to be smaller. The blackheads in my nose cannot be felt anymore.



Several small blackheads in my forehead tends to grow into small acne.



The dark spots in my cheeks started to blur. Just like my forehead, the blackheads in my cheeks also started to turn into small acne. I honestly was scared of continuing this product in this stage. However, I am still curious about the effect in 10 days.

Day 7:



My skin felt super soft! During the day, my skin produces less oil than before. I love how it helps me to reduce those unpleasant oil.



However, the small acne in my forehead seems to grow even more. Although acnes were developed, the acne is very dry. It is unlike the acne that I usually have.



Pores are significantly reduced. Black spots are also reduces. The small acne in my cheeks is also drying just like the one in the forehead.

Day 10:



This the end of the detox mask. In this stage, I felt my skin is at its healthiest as ever! It is very supple. My makeup stayed on better. The texture of my skin also supports me to put less makeup than before. I used to be so dependent with foundations. But after the detox period, it is enough for me to put on just powder for my daily makeup.



The acnes in my forehead looks completely dry. I've just have to wait for some times for it to completely disappear. I made a personal conclusion that the acnes that were developed is a part of a detoxing result. This is because the acne dries instantly and the skin rejuvenate by its own.


After 10 days of religiously using the Medina Organic Kefir Mask as a detox mask, I've felt several significant effect to my skin. Those are:

1. Tighter pores.
2. Brighter skin.
3. Reduced of blackheads.
4. Drying acne.
5. Reduced black spots.
6. Reduced excess oil during the day.
7. More supple and soft skin.

Giordani Gold is one of the product line of Oriflame, a Swedish cosmetics company that sells its product through multi-level marketing scheme. Oriflame itself is very popular in Indonesia and adored by many women of Indonesia. I personally rarely used Oriflame, but I have to give it a try on one of their premium line, Giordani.

Giordani Gold Voluptuous Lipstick is designed to be one of Oriflame luxury line that are inspired by the elegance and elusive of classical Italian lifestyle. Each of the Giordani Gold Voluptuous Lipstick is sold for IDR. 198.000 which is actually quite a premium price for a lipstick. Its luxury is obviously shown by its packaging. The lipstick is packaged in a very exclusive and sleek glass package, decorated with gold details. I personally adore the packaging.



The shade that I decide to get is called Fuchsia Petals. It is a settle red dipped with just a scent of purple in their shade. The product however offer two other shades that I did not get.



The amount of product inside the package is not as generous as what I've expect it to be. The shape of the lip product is like a small tube with a flat top. I personally prefer the traditional lipstick shape that has a more narrow shape at its top to make the application on my lips becomes easier. However, the round flat tube shape of the Giordani Gold lipstick makes it a bit challenging for me to apply.



The consistency of the lipstick itself is very velvet and moisturising. It is super moisturising that it adds an instant glow. Honestly it is not a good thing for a matte lover like me. Just like any other moisturising lip product, the Giordani Gold lipstick needs an extra swipe on the application for perfect pigmentation.





The application in my lips tends to make my face looks a bit older than I am. It is super glossy which I am also not a fan of.



This is what it looks like after finishing one meal. As you can see that all the product has disappeared in my lips. But if we look closely the lip product leaves a tinted red to my lips. So yes it does stains a bit.


FINAL RATING:
I will give the Giordani Gold Voluptuous Lipstick a 6/10. I like the packaging so much. The moisturising effect does helps too. However, I am not a fan of its colour and its consistency. The pricing is also a bit overpriced for this quality in my honest opinion.

I know that I am very late to talk about the magic of Mane 'n Tail hair products. The hype was just sooooo yesterday. I was very sceptical about the hype at first. Because for me, shampoo is just shampoo. No significance to buy the cheap or expensive one. But I was wrong..:D

I've purchased my first Mane 'n Tail shampoo in Guardian just because I found a great bargain in their monthly sale. So I said to myself, "why not treat my hair with some pricy shampoo".

The shampoo itself contains olive oil that will nourishes our hair quite well. The conditioners will provide shine to our hair. The shampoo has an anti dandruff formula that really suits me well at this time.

I am so happy with the after result of the first time usage on this product. My hair becomes very easy to handle. My hair is usually frizzy after every shampoo. But with this product, my frizz significantly reduced. There is also an instant shine without having to put additional hair product in my hair. 

I believe that this product is worth the investment. Will I repeat the purchase? Definitely yes!

I rate this product to be 8/10.

In my previous article, I have posted my experience shopping in Althea, an online platform that sells Korean cosmetics and skin care at an affordable price. I was overly excited to open the package, especially because of the great packaging they present.

I've bought 4 main items that was an "editor picks" in their website. I am quite not well informed about current Korean beauty trends, so I've just ordered those that were recommended by the editor of Althea.

ITEMS PURCHASED:

1. It's My Perfume Hand Cream

My hands are currently very dry. So I was so tempted to buy these hand cream. These hand cream was detailed to be moisturising without greasing your hand. It comes in 4 options of fragrance. For my purchase, I've decided to choose "Sugar Day" and "Honey Berry". Each of these hand cream was sold for IDR.28.000 in Althea.

2. Mamie Blue Pack Mask From B&Soap

This mask was recommended by the editors of Althea because of it's soothing effect and it's ability to purify pores. I've decided to purchase this because of it's peppermint scent (I'm a big fan of peppermint). The mask looks like the dupe of Lush Face mask. The Mamie Blue Pack was sold for IDR.158.000 in Althea.

3. Under-arm Perfume Peeling Pads

I am never confident with my armpits. My skin is super sensitive and I am allergic to my own sweat. This leads to making parts of my body that tend to sweat to become dark, especially on my armpits area. Of course, this product just sold me in seconds! Plus, it was on SALE! This was sold for IDR.90.000 for 6 packs.

4. Get It Dual Brow Pencilcara in Natural Brown

I am not great when it comes to creating a sleek looking eyebrow. It always took me ages to make a "quite good" eyebrow. So I've always like to try new options of Eyebrow tools. This product has eyebrow pencil that are retractable and an eyebrow mascara in one items. In Althea, this was sold for IDR.125.000.

HOW MUCH I PAY IN TOTAL

I was actually supposed to pay IDR429.000 for all of my order. But I've received a discount of IDR.100.000 because of coupon, and an additional discount of IDR.5.600 because of first purchase. I did not have to pay any shipping fee since I've purchased the product in their promotional session where free shipping was applied for every purchase above IDR.300.000. So, in total, I only have to pay IDR.323.400 for all of my purchases. Great deal huh???!!!!!

So the story begins when my favourite Obstetricians which is also the sister in-law of my best friend posted a post of her Sulwhasoo purchase. Sulwhasoo is one of the infamous Korean luxury beauty product that many people raved about. Some said that it is the "SK II of Korea". Short story short, I asked her about her instant review on the set and she replied with a very positive feedback. I was so tempted to try.

My husband and I recently just went for a short weekend escape to Semarang. We were aware that our hometown, Jogja will be very crowded during the long weekend period so we've decided to escape to Semarang and Solo for the long weekend. Our main destination in both of those cities are the culinary adventure. Yes.. We both like to bite and munch!

One of the legendary culinary spot in Semarang that many people recommend is the Leker Paimo. Leker is a crispy crepes filled with the desired fillings (usually chocolate chips, cheese, condense milk, or peanuts). However, Leker Paimo also provides the savoury flavour such as spicy tuna or beef sausage that is served and made like an omelet. The savoury flavour is something that I found unique in Leker Paimo since it is not found in any other crepes store

Leker Paimo is just a small stall of street food located right in front of Loyola College/High School that can be found at Jl. Karanganyar No.37, Semarang. The stall is open since 10AM till 5PM. However, since it is very crowded, it is important to come early to get our order just like what we've wanted. The price of each portion is very affordable starting from IDR.4000 (around 40 cents) to IDR.10.000 (less than 1 dollar). Although it is sold in a very affordable price, the taste is quite good. It is classic and authentic!

On the first day of our arrival, we went straight to Leker Paimo. If not mistaken, it was about at 4PM. We did not know its operating hours at first. We did not expect that it is that crowded also. Upon our arrival, we were asked to write our orders in a piece of paper with our name in it. That we were asked to wait. And when they meant wait, it is no kidding. We've waited for an hour! Yes, an hour with not certainty of when our orders will be made. But people (including us) still waited anyway.. LOL..!

I was joking with my husband asking him "what if we've waited for so long, and the materials to make our crepes is empty before they are able to make our orders??". My husband at that time answered that they have made a calculation and will stop the people from ordering once they felt that the raw materials will not be enough. So we've patiently waited.

But........ My husband prediction was wrong... HAHAHAHA..!!!

After an hour waiting under the heat, the seller (with no regret) saying that there are no more materials to make the crepes to the buyer that has been waiting for ages in their stalls. ZONK MOMENT!! We were speechless!

Since I don't want to leave the place empty handed, I've asked the seller if she could just sell the crepes that has been made to us (the unattended orders). The seller agreed, and we received just one peace of the savoury crepes.  I honestly is a not a big fan of the savoury crepes. 

Lesson learned: COME EARLY!

So the the next day, we've decided to come to the location exactly at 10AM. The crowd is not as crowded as the previous day. We also did not wait for the crepes as long as the previous day. Since we don't really fancy the savoury crepes, we've ordered a box of the sweet crepes. I like the crispy sweet crepes with banana+chocolate+cheese fillings the best.

My comment about the crepes.. Well.. It's not bad at all. It's good tasting actually. But in my honest opinion, it's just not worth the wait.
